ACADLT standalone license transfer problem

Is there a limit to how many times we can transfer a standalone license of ACADLT?

 

I tried to transfer ACADLT2011 but autodesk website refused to cooperate. And I'm deeply puzzled as to why my previous registrations with autodesk did not show up anywhere. I really wonder how does autodesk record keeping of ACADLT of standalone licenses work?

 

I have other software products with Adobe and it keeps my records perfectly clear on a list.

Are you trying to use LT on more than one system at one time?

The scenerio is such that new PCs are being purchased and the ACADLT licenses move to newer PCs. ACADLT on old PCs get transferred out and ACADLT get uninstalled.

 

Any suggestion for a better solution and a more economical way of doing it? Thanks.

So for PC1 there is seat1
PC2 there is seat2
PC3 there is seat

If that is the case simply uninstall and then reinstall on the new PC.
If you are trying to use the same license multiple times.you cannot
Autodesk recognizes the occasional need to reinstall and allows that.

Leave LT on original PC
Install and authorize LT on the new PC
Ensure all works and nothing is missing on the new PC
Uninstall LT from the old PC

A simple not complicated one-for-one swap with no downtime should anything go wrong anywhere. Any other method, from any vendor, leaves you open to unrecoverable errors IMHO.

yep, seems like this is the best route. So much for LTU (license transfer utility) thing. Has this issue exposed Autodesk might be very strong with its technicality in its products and supremely weak in the licensing? The register once thing for standalone, IMHO is a joke. I had used it before to register a few licenses and a year later (which is now), it showed no license and my ID has shown with another address in another country, indonesia in my case.

 

So can I seek your opinion for an office with 25user licenses with potentially frequent acquisition of new PCs, what type of license is best suited to migrate onto new PCs over and over again. Thanks.

If you are using 25 licenses of LT or a combination of Autodesk products your reseller should be at your beck and call for any and all of these questions I should think.

And if you do not have one you should seek one out.

Or let Autodesk know that your reseller is not living up to your needs.

Also, the reseller can correct the license issues that you have. Again, 25 seats of Autodesk software should get you some help when needed.

Autodesk recognizes that the software will get moved to a new PC from time to time due to new hardware or reinstalls to correct Registry or harddrive issues, and allows several installs as Dean suggested above: Install and make sure the setup is correct; then uninstall from the previous machine.
