I'm running 2002LT on Windows Me w/ Norton 2003 -
I've downloaded the ac1st15.dll,
I've uninstalled norton 2003,
I've reinstalled 2002 it,
I've re-dowloaded the ac1st15.dll file -
I still can't run AutoCad - Any suggestions?
Make sure you only have one copy of the DLL on your system, and make sure it
is located in the correct location only.
Uninstall in Windows is not reliable if you did not answer YES to remove all
files.
WindowsME has a restore feature you should have performed prior in lieu of
all the uninstalls. Windows registry edits may also be required.
WinME is not the best choice of OS, upgrade it if you can.

I had a 'missing file ac1st15.dll' issue on my win ME laptop. Do a search in the knowledge base and you'll find 3 solutions listed. I used method #3 (because it seemed simpler) and it worked.
I'm curious - does anyone know what causes this? I was using AutoCAD on my laptop for quite awhile when this occurred. Previous to getting the missing file alert I had just installed an external CD burner (Iomega). Whenever I burn CDs on my desktop with the Iomega and try and load them on my laptop I get the same missing file message which makes me think it has something to do with the CD burner. In frustration I went out andI bought a 128mg keychain storage device to transfer files between my desktop and my laptop and that seems to work fine. (anyone want to buy a Iomega CD burner cheap?)
Norton Anti-Virus updates usually is the culprit: never heard of a CD burner
doing it too, but IOMEGA software seems to have contributed to a few AutoCAD
glitches in the past.

Go the following web site www.autodesk.com and select the following: choose product (I chose AutoCAD LT)
(bottom left)
(although I did not have any problem with Norton Antivirus 2003 this is the only link that I could find ac1st15.dll to download)
Scroll about half way down and select “ac1st15.dll” when prompted to download select “save this file to disk” make sure that you navigate to C:\Program files\Common files\Autodesk shared. (or if you installed AutoCAD on a different drive then replace C:\ with the appropriate drive letter) If this DLL already exists you will get the following prompt “C:\Program files\Common files\Autodesk shared\ac1st15.dll already exists. Do you want to replace it? Select yes. If the DLL is not there it will be installed. Now try and launch AutoCad.
