How do you start the INSERT command?

If you type INSERT on the command line do you get the dialog box?

If you type -INSERT (note the dash) on the command line do you get command line prompts?

My guess is you are typing " I " and your PGP file has that as the -INSERT command which suppress the dialog box and gives you command line prompts.

I have my pgp file set for I for the insert command and yes I unsually type just the I for insert

and yes there is a -I for insert also

do I just delete the -I from the pgp file?

the dash supresses the dialog box. In your PGP file modify it look like this.

-I,          *-INSERT
I,            *INSERT

now when you type " I " you will get the insert dialog box. When you type " -I " you will get command line prompts for the insert command.

Be sure to run the  REINIT command after saving the changes.

Back to basics then.... Test this for me:

at the command line type -INSERT (with the preceding dash) ... should not be a dialog box

at the command prompt type INSERT (without the preceding dash) ... should be a dialog box.

I searched the forums and google and could not find any other ideas to try. Maybe Dean or Charles will chime in with a solution. In the mean time you might try a repair install and see it that cures your missing dialog box problem.

At the command line, type .INSERT (note the period as part of the name): if you have no dialog, do you get a commandline function instead? If did you recently switch from dual screen and your pop-up is "off screen" now?

Changing the screen resolution can also show if something is near to the edge of the screen.

Sometimes this will show up as a dark line on the edge of the Desktop.

Type INSERT then Alt+Space (this will open the Alt menu for the dialog box)

Type M (Move)

Now press and hold an arrow key, or two, or three to see if the dialog will come on screen.

Not sure if it will be left, right, up, or down.

Please mark any response as "Accept as Solution" if it answers your question.
