Inserting OLE object fails

Would someone please help me remember what the trick is to get a Microsoft
Word document to insert into a drawing? I get the "Failed to create object.
Make sure the object is entered in the system registry" error message. I am
pretty sure I don't have to reinstall Office nor AutoCADLt to get this to
work, but I seem to remember a single session setting or something similar
has to be set in order for this to work. Any suggestions?

Copy/Paste from both open applications is one way.
INSERTOBJ>Create New process is another.
INSERTOBJ>Create from file is occasionally troublesome.
Copy/Paste from Word into an open MTEXT window is the easy way.

OLE has limitations, HELP in LT explains. The registry error message would
indicate a Windows issue, not Word or LT.

Hi Dean,

Thanks but since I can't remember the solution I stumbled on last time I
encountered this I will have to defer to this being a windows problem.
AutoDesk KB article TS43271 led me to believe the "source" was Word not
windows however. I will post an update if I figure it out again (and write
it down for my own benefit)

For now, here is what I found out about my problem. If I insert the OLE
using the link option and the show as icon option, then it works. I then
must edit the object and uncheck the icon option. Now the document is shown
and I can double click to edit.
