GEDIT 3 Fatal Error

Recently when I go into ACLT I can only issue 3-4 commands before receiving the above error message with the question of "do you want to save work from last command?" Of course, I say yes and then am able to bring up the recovered dwg but within 3-4 commands it does it again. I noticed in 2004 several people had this same problem but I saw no resolutions to it. One Uninstalled ACLT and Reinstalled and it solved the problem, but I have already done that and it continues to do the same thing again. Am way behind on work so if anyone has a resolution would appreciate a response asap. Thanks.

It's a common problem with LT2002 users, very rare elsewhere. http://discussion.autodesk.com or http://support.autodesk.com Select LT type GEDIT3 in the search box and explore postings to date on the topic. ONLY real fix IMHO is dumping LT2002 for something newer. WinXP ideal too. -- Dean Saadallah Add-on products for LT http://www.pendean.com/lt --

I had this problem yesterday as well right after updating windows XP but before performing the restart it required. After the restart the problem has not reoccurred

There is a post in there somewhere from Shaun Hurley (sp?) with a beta-patch that seemed to work for the person he was responding to......you might want to check that out. Thanks for the info but somehow that isn't working for me w/XP. Downloaded 2002 twice and still not able to work. Our whole office is going to upgrade to 2005. Good luck w/yours.

Thanks for your time Dean. Upgrading to 2005 ASAP since XP won't except the SPs and Patch.

Thank you Matt. I saw that. Was not successful as the XP indicates that the patch application is not compatible w/Win32, so will upgrade now to 2005.

Fully uninstall LT2002 and restart your PC before LT2005 installation. Get latest .NET setup from Microsoft, not the LT2005 CD. -- Dean Saadallah Add-on products for LT http://www.pendean.com/lt --

Gedit3 is a creation of the AutoDesk Lt production dream time. I hope they are proud. Introducing time bomb that set off anti virus software in there opinion is a good thing. Why Gedit 3 well only 3 commands can run at a given time and your anti virus software is one of them. This indiscretion is costing industry millions and it must stop. Now that I see your post, I believe you had a fix at one time with one of your wonderful products, correct? Still an option? -- Dean Saadallah Add-on products for LT http://www.pendean.com/lt --

This happened to me recently and after research on the net I found that Gedit3 means a conflict of programmes with AutoCAD in my case I had just loaded Antvirus Panda Titanium 2005 . I uninstalled the programme and the problem was solved. I am still waiting to hear from Panda as I still wish to use an Antivirus programme.
