Fatal Error at start up - Unhandled exception e0434f4dh exception at 7c812afbh

I just started getting this error when I start AutoCAD LT 2010.  I've tried the solutions posted elsewhere, i.e. removing Microsoft .net framework, including a complete uninstall using a removal tool posted elsewhere.  I then reinstalled .net framework 1.1 and 3.5 SP1 from the Microsoft site, and the problem recurred.

The program worked fine until a few days ago.

The only thing that seems to work is uninstalling .net 3.5 using the Windows uninstall.  The program will then load and run, but some commands will generate errors, including some fatal ones.

I'm using Windows XP Pro.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Bret Johnson

What other dot-nets do you have installed?

This Thread is looking for MS .net 3.0 to be installed:

From Autodesk's Help:

http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/ps/dl/item?siteID=123112&id=7236884&linkID=9240697

In the right column you will see that this applies to LT 2010 too. Worth trying bfore starting over.

The microsoft update site installs .net 1.1 separately, and installing .net 3.5 SP! installs 2.0, 3.0 and 3.5.  I uninstalled 3.5, but left 3.0, 2.0 and 1.1.

As I said ACADLT2010 will run, but still generates some errors. They are not usually fatal.

Thanks

AFAIK, to fix .NET issues you must remove ALL versions from Windows, Restart Windows, then install only the ones you need in sequence. Most apps, when you start them, will let you know if the one exact variant they need is missing and you can download/install it later.

Here you go from Autodesk:

http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/ps/dl/item?siteID=123112&id=13109351&linkID=9240817

You may need to also remove all instances of Autodesk products from your system:

Remove Autodesk Products:
http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/ps/dl/item?linkID=9240817&id=2887771&siteID=123112

REVO UNINSTALLER, Google it, may be a better place to start removing the programs. Use its most aggressive settings.

I think have this solved.

I did a repair reinstall on ACAD LT2010, and then installed .net 3.5 as a down load from the .net website, not the update web site.  Everything appears to work so far.

Perhaps the problem is in the 3.5 SP1 update?

Anyway, thank you all for pointing me in the right direction.
