Coverting Drawings

I use AutoCad LT 2002. If I get a drawing created in a newer version of AutoCad, I can't open it. Is there a way to convert newer files to be able to be viewed in an older version of Cad ?

Not with your LT. Someone with a higher version program has to save it down
to 2000 format for you.

through any internet search engine.

Well.....gee....you're certainly in the know...!!!

A free converter for translating .dwg formats forwards & backward....???
Sounds like an oxymoron paradise....!!!! I look forward to hearing more
about this magical bandaid.

It's no big secret, the very public beta has been going on for months:
http://autodesk.blogs.com/between_the_lines/2005/07/standalone_batc.html

and you can still join if you want I believe or wait for this page for the
final product:
