using shapefiles in AutoCAD

When using the Map extension, and importing a shapefile into AutoCAD, I would like to attach the elevation specified in the table associated with the shapefile, and have the polyline import AT the specified elevation.

Anyone know how to do this?

Its been a while but this is how I remember it(circa Map2006). 1st step is to import the shape file with the elevation as object data then the second step is to use the Maps Query functionality to assign the elevation to the polyline. Here is how:
Import shape file into 1st drawing with the elevation as object data. Save and exit this drawing.
Open a 2nd drawing and attach the 1st drawing using the Map|Drawings|Define/Modify Drawing Set.
Set up a query from Map|Query|Define Query.
Select the Location button and then select ALL to query the polylines.
Select the Alter Properties button; Select Property 'Height'; select the Expression... button then drill down through the properties to find and select 'Height'.
Hit OK and then the Execute Query button. Oh and make sure Query Mode is set to Draw.
