Upgrading to LDD 2006

We are now running on LDD4 and we are trying to make the Jump to 2006. I noticed that on 2006 you have 2 icons to choose from, Land desktop 2006 and Civil 3d 2006 compared on LDD4 was just switching the menu pallets. Which one is the best to use and can you customize them to be a combination of both?

Hey Mike;

Civil 3D is distinctly different from Civil Design, and no you cannot
customize the icons or applications to combine properties from both. Though
the process of getting a Project through to completion will involve using
both those applications.

You will need to be brought up to speed on Civil 3D's capabilities. The best
place to do that is through the Webcast archive. http://tinyurl.com/3duor

And I would suggest that you check the two webcasts dated March 4th and 18th
of this year first. They provide the best of what was, and now is.

C3D is not the next thing to soft margarine and sliced bread - yet. But they
are getting a whole lot closer than this same time last year.
