Task Pane is a pain

Hello,
I am having a couple of issues:

The Task Pane keeps showing up, even though I have the box unchecked in Map/Options/Task Pane. What's strange is that if the box is checked, the task pane shows up fine. If the box is UNchecked, the task pane palette is still there, but nothing is inside of it. I've attached a reduced screen shot of this. Bottom line, I don't want the Task Pane at all.

ALSO, none of my other settings that LDT typically remembers by simply closing and re-opening seem to save. For example, I dock my properties palette, close and re-open (only one drawing open) and the properties palette continues to default to the middle of the screen. Just wondering if anyone had any ideas before I run a repair. PS, I ran a simple repair (no CD required) on the installation and the registry keys and that didn't change anything.

Do a repair or re-install since it sounds like you are having multiple issues with your program.
