self-incrementing block attribute

OK. I'm a little dense here. My problem is that I have 90,000+ features to attribute with a 12 digit
number that corresponds with a SQL database in order to create polygon topologies and database
links. Am looking for a way to automate this proceedure. We are running LDD2 was hoping that there
may be something included in the package or a simple lisp alternative. Am not very good at custom
routines as of yet and maybe some advice on a good programming manual might do me some good
also. thank you

Is there anything unique to the 90k features (I assume
entities in Autocad) that relate to anything in the
database? Or will you have to manually tag each one of them.
If so, you'll have to know which one relates to the record
in the database before you attach the tag so the link will
be valid when you generate them. A little more information
would help....

The self incrementing tag is easy - making it relate to the
correct record in the database is not.

Thank you for your response. Yes the attributte I need to link to is our 12 digit Assessor's parcel
number. It is a unique number and has a direct link to our SQL database. Ye s I believe I am going
to have to manually key these values into the attribute block. What I'm trying to do is insert the block,
enter a number, save it as a variable(?), then increment it by 1000 with a varification(is this the right
number?). Have spent most of the weekend struggleing with autolisp trying to figure out how to do this.
Simple? I'm not quite there yet and am feeling pretty stupid about now. Anyhelp I can get at this
point will be greatly appriciated and will significantly reduce my level of stress.

I'm afraid it's been a while, but I feel like you can do this with some of
the routines in the Map portion of LDD. I know the database can be attached
to the significant objects, so you might look into that option, or hope that
one of the GIS geniuses can help more.

You may want to checkout a useful excel file with a linking macro called excellink (http://www.cadonline.cz/files/excellink.zip)
This is a demo only limited to 20 block entries
