Saving Settings

Hi,

I'm changing machines and I was wondering if there was an easy way to save
my configuration. This including custom toolbars and middle button
customization.

Windows 2000
LDD 3.0

Explore PROFILES in AutoCAD, under OPTIONS.

The quickest way if you are using the same release (which may not always be
the safest way) is to zip up the support folder and any other custom folders
you have. Setup the new PC. Zip up the new support folder & then replace it
with the one from your old pc.

There is also the Migration Assistants which may not work very well going
from PC to PC.

Another concept worth considering/trying, also assuming that the same release is used:

Get the other pc up and running with everything installed. Compare the files in the support directory, and all sub-directories. If a file on the old machine is newer than the same file on the new machine copy only that one file. Repeat this process with all files that meet the comparison results. If you go with this method, it may also be worth the extra effort to put these files onto a diskette or CD for future machine upgrades.
