Query

OK, here is one:

There is a system to follow where you can query object data, copy it into excel, then re-query it into a drawing and such features as road names, surface types, etc will appear on or next to the object(s) selected.

Does anyone know this procedure?

Hey pgoodman;

Sounds like you've removed yourself from the place where you enjoyed this
previously, and left without a friend at the old firm to ask this of.

Or is it that the firm ditched this benevolent application without informing
all-involved?

Either way I hope (for your sake) that someone here knows what your talking
about.

I'm just trying to point out some other means of acquiring the information
you need.

The only procedure I know does not involve excel and instead just uses the
annotation command.

Probably pgoodman is talking about using a Map Query to create a report in
CDF. Then sucking the comma delimited file into Excel. Then using that file
to Query the data from.

But unless you are altering the data in excel you'd be better off either
querying it into another drawing or using annotations.
