Issue #1:
That display is actually fairly standard among the surveying world. If you
have an agency (or Project Manager) making you jump through that hoop, then
you could output to a csv file (if I remember Lynn Allen's webcast
correctly); bring them into Excel; and use the Number Format with a
thousands separator, aka comma.
Issue #2:
I'm guessing here - did you do this exercise through a Paper Space Viewport
in Model Space, and these two points were the only ones that would display
inside said Viewport?
