PFGC LAYER

I would like to define a FG for an offsite storm system. Each time I try to
define the FG entities, all the layers get turned off. What layer do I need
to have the pline on in order to define it.

Why does it shut all the layers off. It would make more sense if I can pick
and choose which layer to have visible, if necessary to do a window
crossing?

Hi Zdenko,

If you draw your vertical alignments using the tools in the profiles menu,
it puts them on the correct layer automatically.

There is also a command to set the layer current.

Turning off all the other layers is designed to make it easy to select the
relevant objects.

You really are not limited to using just the Profile tools. Just use the FG
Centerline Tangents Set Current Layer command to draw your tangents on the
correct layer for definition purposes.

Thanks for all of your input (FE & LC)! I will definitely start to use the
tools. Every once in a while, I start to free-hand on a any given layer to
get a general idea of how I would like the profile to look and then get the
numbers....

Hello I am having the same issue, I had to create my PFGC layer, when I go to Define FG Centerline everything turns off, I am on the right layer because when I use set current layer it takes me to the layer I created and the profile settings are using the PFGC, there is only one profile and one alignment and I am set to them both.  I tried drawing with a line and a Pline, still nothing wtf is going on? this always works.
