PaperSpace to new DWG

This might be more of a vailla AutoCAD question, but here goes.

We have a drawing with multiple layout spaces. We have to send the drawing
out for approval in DWG format, but only want to send just ONE of the layout
spaces WITHOUT any of the layers that pertain to the other layouts (ie,
watermains, sewers, etc). What I'd like to to would be copy/plot/? the
layout space to a new drawing where all the layout borders AND the model
space entities go along for the ride. Essentially, it would be like
plotting to a PDF file, but in DWG format instead. I know we could change
space for the model/paper space objects, but since it uses multiple xrefs,
and the information is spread all over the model space, this would be WAY to
time concuming to bother with.

Any suggestions? Thanks

This is easy. Terry Dotson's Toolpac has this among his many utilities. It
is called "Layout Save File" (LSF), www.dotsoft.com

Yes it would work, but unfortunately it would take longer to get approval to
buy the software than to actually do the clip/cut/paste routine...
Any other ideas??

Well, just write block out the model space info and the layout space info.
Insert a block of the layout and scale to appropriate size in the model
spave dwg.. About 2 minutes, I suppose. I have nothing to to with
T.Dotson's product, but will say that anyone in this business would welcome
the many utilities that he offers. Just a happy user.

I'll second "wfb".
If you only have to do it once, no problem.
But, consider how long it may take to do this task 10, 20 ,100 times vs. acquiring the right tool for the job...

I need to accomplish the same task...I have typed "chspace" at the
command line...and ended up with blank screen and text telling me it has
scaled the drawing and other problems...can you give me a brief overview
of how the command works...thanks

Thanks all. If it were possible I would get the ToolPac software - I've
used some of his freebie and they made life easier. I ended up just playing
with it unitl it was good enough for what they need. (Can you believe
it-but they want the dwg in Version 13???)

Incidentally, the biggest problem with the change space idea was the
dimensions, contour labels, etc that LDD makes. Made a real mess.
