LDD Point Groups: Saving to Prototype

Hi Everybody,

I want to save my point group filters to a prototype file. When I pick that command (in Point Group Manager) I get a list of existing prototypes to save to.

I am afraid to save to any of the existing ones. Tried creating one of my own by copying one, but it will not show up in the prototype list shown in Point Group Manager.

Is is safe to save to DEFAULT (FEET), for example? Can I create new prototype files?

Any guidance in this is very appreciated.

Yes to both questions.  It's safe to save to the feet prototype, and you can create your own prototype (dwt) file.

Most firms usually have at least one prototype for their own use, setting layers, plotters, abbreviations, etc.  You start with a OOTB dwt and modify it however you want, & save as.

Under options, files, make sure your prototype (now template) drawiings are in the search path.
