LDD Grading

I am designing a soccer field and am following certain grading procedures that require a ridgeline down the center of the field, and slopes down from that point. How can I use LDD Grading opitions to accomplish this? Thanks

3D Polylines? If in Civil Design, can you create a bogus alignment along the ridgeline along the ridge with an attached template for cross-grade info? sm -- scott mceachron avatech solutions - dallas http://www.avat.com/ Check out Our White Papers: http://www.avatechsolutions.com/resources/papers/ Check out our Technical Tips: http://www.avatechsolutions.com/training/elearning/techtips_action.asp?sgid=3

Lots of ways and combinations: Grading Objects, 3D polylines, Road Template. Fred

One way: Terrain --> 3DPolylines --> Create by slope - Start at the centerline of one end of the field, draw to the corner, and give the appropriate negative slope, draw to the other end of the field, give a slope of zero, draw to the middle of that end of the field, give the appropriate positive slope, draw to the next corner, give the appropriate negateive slope, draw to the other end of the slope, giving a slope of zero, hit 'CL' to close it. You now have a closed polyline describing the perimeter of the field, at correct elevations and grades. Assuming you have an existing grade surface, now you can make a grading object out of this polyline, and play with raising/lowering to get your cuts and fills to balance. Hope this helps... -Max- "J. treat it like a parking lot and use a hinge point, this is very simple. The help file can provide enough information for you to get this done. "J.
