OK, I solved it on my computer, but how do I convey it to you :-). Hope you
can follow.
To keep hidden folders from showing:
Open Windows Explorer or My Computer
Click on [Tools] [Folder Options]
Click on the View tab
In there is a radio button that says "Do not show hidden files and
folders". Check this button.
Now from that computer you will not see the hidden directories when you try
to open a file from Map 5. Even if you open Windows Explorer or My Computer
you wont see them. If you do, then I would have to ask how are you hiding
the files? Are you on a domain, or just a Workgroup?
As for the back up stuff, well, that's a head ache for our network admin
people here.
We do differential back ups 2 times a day and full back ups once a week for
over 140 gig's (soon to be 300). I don't know what equipment they use to do
it, but I know that it cost mega $$$$.

keep same relative path for project directory but my only problem is that
when you open a project with LDDT all folders hidden or not, show up. We
currently have 452 projects and we will continue to get more. As our project
directory grows it will become even more unmanagable as time goes on. I need
a way to be able to hide hidden folders from LDDT which as far as I know you
cannot do. We need all projects in same directory for xrefs and other file
activities. I also would like to know if anybody knows of any back-up
software that will not backup hidden files as we only backup inactive
projects once a month and active projects once a day. Inactive being hidden
folders, as backing up entire project directory every night would cause even
the most reliable server to fall to its knees. If you know of a way to fix
either of these problems please contact me ASAP.
