How do I make a "double line" linetype?

I want to make a custom linetype that will draw a dual line in parallel that I could input a certain distance apart. Is this possible? If so, could someone assist me?

Here is a definition & shp file we use. It will do curves but there will be
dots along the centerline.

And along the lines of Doug's query, you can use Multilines as long as you
don't mind "chorded" curves.

I thought I had mine "handy" but after a few minutes searching the DG... I
can provide a fairly well-rounded sample near the bottom of this thread in
the Zip file;
http://tinyurl.com/nmbrl

Read through that thread for multiline's limitations - mainly curvature.

That file is pretty extensive obviously not one days work. And it reflects
the passion in which you address issues here on the NG.

Thanks for sharing, and the compliments come easy when well deserved

Wow, thanks for the replys. I'll give multilines a try and then try the file Don uploaded to see the difference.
