Ghost in the System?

We are running LDD 2006. Been working great. Left office on Friday, came back Tuesday, and now I get no dialog boxes. I can't insert images, i can't (save as) anything. No one has touched the computer all weekend, yet I believe settings have changed. Has anyone had this happen, and how do I fix it? (menuload) doesn't work, neither does (workspace). I've went through standard repairs and even reinstalled it.

It might be that LDT reset one or two system variables and it did not have a
chance to reset because an LDT command was canceled using the ESC key.

Filedia = 1
Cmddia = 1

Using the ESC key to exit a command in AutoCAD is acceptable, this is not so
with LDT. All LDT commands you want to cancel should be run until you are
prompted to cancel/exit or completed.

As long as you are still able to see a "response" from AutoCAD on the
command line during the MENULOAD, WORKSPACE, SAVEAS, etc. commands then it
sounds like the FILEDIA and CMDDIA settings need refreshing - what John told
you.

Along with John's able advice brannaninc, it's beginning to sound like this
procedure may be in order to get things back to "properly" functioning
order:

That tinyurl will take you to the Technical Support article dealing with
removing all Autodesk products from the registry prior to a re-installation.

Thanks for the responce. I got it fixed. Did a complete uninstall and reinstall. Working good now. At least I know what it is if it happens again. Thanks

A good thing to remember when you don't get the file dialog box. If you
enter a tilde (~) in place of the file name the box will appear. that will
keep you going until you have a chance to restore the variable.

If it happens again, you will likely get things working again if you delete
your default LDT profile and let LDT recreate it on a restart.
