Export to 2000, points turn to blocks..

Is there a setting that I'm missing that would keep points as points, and the database still intact when you go to export to 2000 version from 2005? Very frustrating that the points turn into blocks through export and they are no longer connected to a database. We find we are having to export the points first in 2005, then remove points from drawing, then export drawing to 2000, then re-import points back in 2000 (2002). This is pretty damn stupid - anything I can do to eliminate the waste of time? The surveyor is still on 2002 and I'm on 2005, often have to deal with this if he wants to work in the drawing.

TIA
Dave

Hey Dave;

Maybe use LandXML?

You mention that the LS has 2002 - would that include LDT3? It contains the
ability to Import LandXML files.

And I would use Etransmit, as he may be saving the DWG into 2000 format, but
he can open a 2002 DWG.

That is one of your options in Etransmit, isn't it - to save as a 2002
format file?

I'm curious about this also. My problem is similar except that I'm exporting to 2000 from 2007. I'd like the civil point objects to stay civil point objects because I have so many so I have moved the labels around to make it readable. If I export to 2000 the point objects change to blocks and the client is unable to move the labels around without reimporting the points and redoing the whole thing. Is there any way to export to 2000 and retain the civil point objects in 2000?

The only way to do it is to use the same version.
