Dynamic Labels?

I am trying to figure out if there is a way to use a dynamic label for a
line and only use either a Bearing or Distance? And if there is an easy way
to do this?

Also is there a specific way to move a point to a new location.

Hi,

1. You can set up a line/curve label to just about anything tou want. Go to
Label/edit label style the dialog box is pretty self explanitory.

2. I always move points by Points/edit points/move. The point setting dialog
allows you to set thing so acad move will update the point, however, I would
refrain from using that option.

But can you make it so its different each time you label a line and still
update dynamically? And is there an easier way to do this than going
through a menu?

And when moving the point it just asks for the base point and second point
of displacement. And when I do that the point goes on top of the second
point of displacement. How do you move it a bearing a distance from another
point?

Ok figured that label line out. Thank you!!!!!!!!

Now the moving point thing still doesn't make sense.

Draw a line by direction from the existing point in the drawing. Use OSNAPS
to move the point(s) from Endpoint to Endpoint...

I don't think LDD has the ability to move a point by bearing & distance (I
could be wrong). You could probably also change your LDD units to display
bearings instead of degrees for angles if you work that way often.

As far as moving the points or any other object based on angles you use a
polar coord in the format of "@50<45" (without the quotes). This will move a
line, point or what ever a distance of 50 units at an angle of 45 deg
relative to the coord system (note that if you change the units to work with
bearings the angle format will change). If you want to move an object at an
angle relative to another object, use the UCD OBJECT toolbar button to
define a coord system with that object. Experiment with the polar coords
with a line or something besides your point objects until you get the hang
of it.

This may produce unpredictable results if a North Rotation has been applied
to the drawing.

So how would you go about resetting a point say .05' while keeping the same
point number?

Your absolutely correct Max, I should have mentioned that but it slipped my
mind since we don't ever use north rotations.

That will work as well just keep track of your Z values!
