Defpoints cannot be plotted

Recently upgraded from R14 to LDT, Map, Survey, C3D, all 2005 versions.

Created a project from an older map and downloaded points into a fieldbook and imported the fieldbook. Points came in fine and are displayed according to specs, but they cannot be plotted. When viewed in the Layer Properties Manager, the Defpoints layer is on and unlocked, but the Plot Icon is grayed out and a message appears stating that the layer cannot be plotted.

All of our other drawings have adapted well and this is the first occurrence of this problem. "Help" was of no help, and any modification of the point list itself has not affected any changes. Am I missing a hidden setting somewhere?

Thank you for your time and attention.

Whenever I import my survey points, I create a new layer called "Points" and import my points onto that layer. It is my understanding that the defpoints layer has always been a layer which can not be plotted.

defpoints is a non plotting layer... tied to dimensions-

but handy for notes or reference lines that you don't want to have plot- or
even viewports in ps-

Thanks fellows, went back and checked our previous maps and the points had been downloaded into Layer "0". Sorry for the trouble and thanks again for the information.

Defpoints has never been plottable. At least not in any version I've
ever used.

If you pick on a point, what layer does the Properties dialog tell you
it's sitting on? If it's on defpoints, it's not going to plot.

I can't remember the last time "defpoints" layer was printable. I still use
it for a non-plotting layer. It has been real handy all these years.

and autocad has no possible work-around I have ever found to plot it. It is
a hard-coded no plot layer! Select your points with right-click - "select
similar" and change them to a different layer!
