Custom toolbar icons

Finally made the leap to civil3d companion 2007 from LDD 2005 (I had to, they had a knife...). I have already spent a lot of time reading on this DG about the many "features" I would have to work around. Anyway, this problem should be easy...
Not used to the new cui stuff, I have a toolbar that I brought in with menuload, the menu looks great in the preview pane, all the icons are there, but they won't show up on the menu itself. I've set the support file path to their location, I've tried re-saving the icons in the edit module, I still get the default question mark icon.

I think the button icon files need to be in the same directory as the custom menu file. Try copying them over and see what happens.

I am experiencing the same problem. Did this work around help? If not, did you find one that did?

I had the same issue, but copying my Bitmaps over into the "proper" Folder -
watch the wrapping due to the length of the Folder Name:
C:\Documents and Settings\Don Reichle\Application Data\Autodesk\Autodesk
Land Desktop 2007\R17.0\enu\Support

And then once you've got them in the correct Folder, you'll need to:
right-click on one of the clouded-question mark Icons on the Toolbar;
click Customize at the bottom of the Dialog Box that next appears;
then select the item in the Customizations in All CUI Files in the
upper-left portion of the CUI;
then click the Edit button in the upper-right portion of the CUI;
then click the Open button on the Button Editor;
then (as long as you're looking at the correct Folder) browse to the proper
bitmap for the item (see above);
then click OK or double-click the bitmap;
then click Save;
then click Close;
you'll then see the clouded-question mark still showing, but then the proper
bitmap should be at the bottom of the images just to the right, so scroll
down to it and select it with your cursor;
then select Apply;
and the "transformation" will take place.

You're then ready for the next clouded-question mark in this process.

It takes far longer to read the steps, than to do them. 😉

I was performing the steps as I was typing also, just so I got them correct.
