CUI not same as menu palette

i was adding commands to my cui and left for a short period. the screen-saver kicked in later. when i returned i couldn't save any new entries and the menu palette shows only 'file', 'view', 'window' and 'help' even though the 'menus' in the cui display all the topics from each discipline- some 12 or more pull-downs. i tried reloading, transferring to a new cui, loading different cui's and then returning to the customized one to no avail. when i try to save a change in it i get a 'custom user interface' dialog box that says 'unhandled exception... , etc.'' object reference not set...' then closes the window and fails to execute and changes. sounds like a corrupted *.dll... any help from anyone?

Hi,

Have you tried a repair install?

Sounds like your menu file is hosed.

Copy the stock, unaltered menu file from "C:\Program Files\Autodesk Land
Desktop 2006\UserDataCache\Support" to "C:\Documents and
Settings\[username]\Application Data\Autodesk\Autodesk Land Desktop
2006\[version]\[language]\Support"

...then reload the menu.

thanks. i tried that. i even did a reinstall of acad and land desktop and it still had only the four pull-downs. this morning i unloaded and then reloaded each of the cui's and that pretty much worked.

Thanks. I pretty much did that already, this morning. I think just unloading and reloading the cui's would have done it.
