Composite surface sources?

If I have a volume surface, is there a method or property that will tell me
the strata & DTM surfaces that were used to create it? I can't seem to find
any way to do this...

Jon,

I haven't done much with volume surfaces, but I can't find anything either.
One solution would be to read the values directly from the surface .sdf
file. This is a text file that contains surface information. It is in the
surface folder with the same name as the surface. If it's a volume surface,
it contains the site and strata info as shown in the following example.

[Site]
SiteName=10359
[Strata]
StrataName=pregrade
Surface1=eg
Surface2=prop1

Are you familiar with reading info text files?
