Add point to a surface that is outside of the dtm boundary - LDDT 2009

I have a drawing that already has a surface built with a dtm boundary already defined. I created a point that is outside of the dtm boundary and added that point to the existing surface by going to Terrain-Edit Surface-Add Point.

The tin lines connected to it as expected but now when I try to view my cross section for that station, it doesn't extend up to the newly added point. My cross section still stops where the dtm-boundary  is.

How can I extend my cross section to reflect the newly added point that is beyond my dtm boundary without having to rebuild my surface?

Solved! Create second surface and then do the Paste Surface process.
