Google Earth Extension - installation error

Anonymous
Not applicable

I have AutoCAD Civil 3D 2011 installed and activated (yes, I know it’s not compatible… read on).  When I attempt to install the AutoDesk DWG to Google Earth Publisher, it says “you need to install AutoCAD 2011 first”.  I downloaded and installed the 30 day trial of AutoCAD 2011. When I attempt to install the Google Earth Extension it still says the same error.

Any ideas here?  I tried to manually point the installer to the AutoCAD 2011 folder instead of the AutoCAD Civil 3D 2011 folder, no luck.

Thanks in advance!

Why are you trying to use the GE addon for AutoCAD when you have the GE tools already in Civil3D?

on the Output tab i'm missing the Publish panel.  i assumed this was installed by the Google Earth extension.  should i have the Publish panel by default?

I have it on mine.  Check what workspace you're using - is it Civil3D or oitherwise, as the ribbon is modified if you're in a different workspace....

i figured it out!  google earth was not installed prior to installing autocad civil 3d 2011.  i uninstalled autocad civil 3d 2011, i installed google earth, and then i installed autocad civil 3d 2011.  now the Publish panel is visible on the Output tab.  all is well.  thanks for the replies, folks!
