FATAL ERROR: Unhandled e0434352h Exception at fdec940h

Good morning.

I am having a problem with 1 of 5 client PCs that is in a design suite I setup last year.

All PCs were working fine until just before Christmas.

1 has randonly started giving the following error:

FATAL ERROR: Unhandled e0434352h Exception at fdec940h

All 5 clients are running windows 7 pro on HP Z420, 16 Gb RAM, NVIDIA Quadro 4000 graphics card.

"randomly" is too random for a positive fix: can you better identify a trigger? Could be a specific file, set of files, file location, file source, something the client PC is doing at that time, or a service running on the server at that time etc.

Well ramdom is exactly how it happens!

The user can be flicking between applications, reading mail/Word / browsing the internet etc.

When they go back to AutoCAD they have the error.

Hello

We are speaking about which version of ACAD : 2013 or 2014 ?

If 2013 : have you installed the SP 2 ?

If 2014 : have you installed the SP 1 ?

Don't let the Automatic Windows Update running, it's too dangerous !

especially with the Dotnet 4.x updates ...

Let it only warning you when new Windows updates are available

and if you have many identic PCs, update ONLY ONE PC and then you test ACAD a few days ...

Then if OK, you update the others PCs ...

The Health, Happy New Year, Bye, Pat

Well, you just stated a specific condition, so it's not that random then 🙂

So this only occurs when other apps are being used and the user then attempts to go back to AutoCAD that is already running (bringing it back into focus) or are they shutting down and restarting AutoCAD?

?? Not too sure what you mean by starting a specific condition??

This occurs when the user is working generally & they switch to another application (bringing it back into focus).

Using AutoCAD 2013 SP2.

That's a specific repeatable trigger, you can do this all day long and get the error message: sadly I cannot find any similarly reported symptoms with solutions.

What is unique anout this on PC/setup that differs from the others? If nothing, then re-image the PC to match all the others and create a new Windows log-in for the user.
Ensure the user has not added or plugged in anything to the PC, perhaps as innocently as a phone or as dramatic as a media player running in the background.
