Visual Style

Is it possible to lock an object to only display in wireframe while showing the rest of the drawing in realistic or shaded style?

Thanks.

Hi,

What is the purpose?

Presentation or you need this because of workflow?

Presentation.  I want to be able to show things behind the object that would otherwise be hidden.

Yes, I think so.  Did you do that within AutoCAD?

Yes, inside AutoCAD:

1. Create your geometry in Model Space. Put the object you want to see as wireframe to separate layer. If this object was created as Solid, maybe it worth to convert it to Surface in order to be able to set isolines representation.

2. Switch to Layout, create viewport with "scene" in separate layer (you have to turn it off in future). Set Realistic Visual Style inside this viewport.

3. VP freeze layer, that holds future wireframe object.

4. Copy viewport you just created, set 2D visual style in this copy, thaw layer with "wireframe" object and VP freeze all others.

5. Put second viewport exactly above the first (second viewport became transparent after assigning 2D Vis Style)

6. Turn off layer with viewports.

7. Print or save to PDF the Layout.
