Superhatch Replacement

I am looking for suggestions on the quickest way to replicate what the SUPERHATCH command does in the PC version of AutoCAD. Specifically, I am looking to copy a 2D wallpaper pattern across a surface.

Explore other options, nothing has changed on the MAC version:

Unfortunately the suggested method - Associative Array + Xclip) doesn't work properly with raster images as OP requested.
In all other cases it works fine,

Maxim
