Simplify vertices on pline or spline?

Has anyone found a way to simplify the number of vertices on a pline or spline?

Hi,

Could you illustrate in more details: what results do you want to achieve?
I can imagine what you mean about plines, but what at about splines?

I think you need AutoLISP routine.
In regard to polyline you can look at this post:

http://www.cadtutor.net/forum/showthread.php?18672-Optimizing-polylines(Reducing-vertices)

Seems that Lisp routines mentioned there should work in AutoCAD for Mac as they doesn't include Visual Lisp functions.

Regarding splines: if I offset a spline I get a new spline with many, many vertices. Not good practice, I suppose, but I like working with splines for contour lines. I was looking for a way to simplify the number of vertices on the offset splines.  I'll have to look into the lisp. Thanks.

Hi Sarra,

Sorry for my mistake: if you are using AutoCAD LT, then you can not use AutoLISP routines in it.
You can remove Control Vertices (or Fit points) on resulting spline with multifunctional grips, but then you will loose the geometry of spline.
To say true I rarely use splines in AutoCAD (don't like them), I use Polylines instead.
