Redefined Blocks???

Hi Everyone,

I've been editing some of my blocks and reinserting them into existing drawings that have these blocks.  When i insert the block a dialog box appears asking me if I would like to redefine the existing block or not.  I select redefine, but for some reason they are not updating/redefining.  When I enter the block (edit mode) it does show the changes, but once I exit it just reverts back to the previous block.  Also, if I have added additional attributes...the same thing happens.

Has anyone had this happen or know how I can get around this issue?

Thanks,

Trang

Hi Trang,

Not  sure about the first issue (" for some reason blocks are not updating/redefining"). I don't have such issue.

About attributes - you have to synchronize all blocks with redefined attributes via Block Attribute Manager (command BATTMAN):

Thanks Maxim - that seem to work 😃

On another note, I'm creating a block that is a generic one that I can scale to whatever scale that I need it to be.  This way it eliminates having to create multiple symbols (of the same kind) at different sizes.  In these blocks I also have annotative attributes, but when I insert these and scale them to the desired size the text is enlarging and throws the annotative scale properties out the window (See attached image).  If I set the attributes without the annotative qualities then the fonts will be at different sizes based on the scale factor (See attached image).  Do you have any suggestions on how best to deal with the attributes?

Cheers,

Trang
