Hi,

No, it is impossible to import .MNU files in AC for Mac.

You have to recreate menu from scratch with CUI command.

Also if you have .CUI (.CUIx) file from AC for Windows, I think it is possible to "incorporate" it to Mac .CUI file manually, by editing in text/XML editor.

In both cases I mean pull-down menus only.

Thanks!

Yes its only pull down menus

When I load the mnu file in AC Win the system generate a .CUIx file automaticly

Do you beleive I can take this .CUIx file and import into my AC Mac ??

So where do edit in MAC ?? And how?

Hi,

I have managed to integrate partial menu ".CUIx" file from Windows into AutoCAD for Mac pull-down menu.

Here is short description of my steps:

1. For this I needed partial ".CUIx" file from Windows from which I extracted PopMenuRoot.cui (with menu structure) and MenuGroup.cui (with macros for menu structure from PopMenuRoot.cui).

2. Then I placed extracted components to PopMenuRoot.cui and MenuGroup.cui files located in Suport folder of AutoCAD for Mac, and I edited Workspace.cui file from AutoCAD Support folder on Mac (added strings to place menu to AutoCAD for Mac menu).

The main thing is to avoid conflicts in identifiers inside CUI files.

You can post your partial .CUIx file from Windows here, and I will try to explain the process in more details if you want.

Is this still the case for AutoCAD 2014 for Mac?  I would like to share my custom tools with other users and it's so easy in the windows version -- cuiload, select file, and poof you have a menu and toolbar with my custom commands...

Thanks for the quick answer.  If I do the cut and paste and get it working on my machine, can I then use those cui files on other machines assuming they don't have any previous custom menus or toolbars?  Is there anything proprietary to my machine or my user in those cui files?

Thanks,

Hi Mark,

Yes, you can manually transfer CUI files from your Support folder to another Mac, but don't forget to transfer also custom AutoLISP routines and custom icons for ToolSets palette (if any).
And don't forget to backup CUI files on another Mac before replacing with yours, customized.
