object snap buttons

Hi There

I have recently started using autocad on mac - very different to windows i know - no ribbon etc.

However when I am following my college work it tells me to select the "snap from" icon in my object snaps toolbar. I dont have this toolbar either on my mac version and is wondering does anyone know how i select this?

Many Thanks

E

Welcome to the Autodesk Forums!

Hi,

If you are using mouse, you can press Shift key on keyboard and right-click with mouse, than onscreen menu appears:

Select From in it.

You can call this OSNAP overrides menu with Shift+Right-click while you are inside command.

If you are using Trackpad on MacBook, than the only option is to type word "from" at the command prompt when AutoCAD asks for point input and hit Return to continue:

Command: LINE
Specify first point: from
Base point: <Offset>:
Specify next point or [Undo]:
Specify next point or [Undo]:

And of course in both cases you can add button to ToolSets palette via CUI command:

than use this button when you need it.
