moving/rearranging layouts

For some reason, 95% of the time I am unable to move or rearrange the order of layouts when I'm viewing my layouts using the "Show Drawings & Layouts" button.

Anyone else encountering this issue?

Thanks!

Matt

I'm having the same problem.  Most of the time it just wants to drag a selection box, I can't figure out how to rearrange them.

Hi,

For me it is not very difficult. I don't know how many Layouts you have in your drawing, but with 5 Layouts the task is really simple. Just pick on Layout you want to move with mouse and drag it to desired position. You should have visual cue - black vertical bar, that helps you to distinguish new position of the dragged layout.

Look at my screen cast.

HTH

Don't know if you are still seeing this, but I just noticed that it only happens when I have Caps Lock selected.  When I turn that off, I can rearrange the order without any problems.  It was driving me nuts!

Glad I found this post and the caps lock off correction.

It is still an issue as of September 10, 2014.

I have the same problem and caps lock does change the behavior,  with caps lock draging selects multiple layouts, without it you can click drag a layout.  This might be intentional but I cant select several layouts by draging over them with caps lock on and then move them by turning caps lock off.

If this is by design using the caps lock key to change behavor is a very strange choice normaly it is command, shift or control.

Welcome to Autodesk Forums!

Hi,

It is not "by design", it is a bug, still not fixed.

Thank you for that. Here it is 2015 and they still have not fixed that bug. Caps lock off and it works fine by draging the mouse. C'mon AutoDesk. You can do better then that!

November 2015

Just started using AutoCAD for Mac and this was driving me crazy!

I saw the Caps Lock solution and tried it out. I actually had to turn Caps Lock on and off a couple times and it worked!

Weird bug... get on it Autodesk it looks like it's been over 4 years!

I am using 2016 for Mac. I have found if I open the show drawings and layouts tab or toggle (command and .) that I can select a layout by pushing and holding the left mouse button and then while holding it down actuate the scroll wheel on the mouse and I can place the layout wherever I please. It seems to work on my Mac whether the caps lock is on or off. I took me a while to figure it out.

Hope this helps.

I have AutoCAD Electrical 2017.

I was able to correct this issue by the following.

My MODEL AND LAYOUT tabs did not exist above or below my command line area.

I clicked the WRENCH just left of the command line.

I clicked on OPTIONS

Then in the Display tab, under Layout elements, I checked the box for DISPLAY LAYOUT AND MODEL TABS

Click APPLY

Then I was able to drag the Layout tabs in the order that I needed them in.

Simpel solutions.
Toggle the "sdi" command between 0 and 1.

Thanks. It worked
