How to uninstall AutoCAD 2011 on a mac

Just downloaded AutoCAD for MAC 2014, but before I install it it asks me to uninstall the previous versions. I did it but Im still getting the message "Your system already has a copy of AutoCAD installed. Please uninstall the existing AutoCAD to continue installation"

Welcome to the Autodesk Forums!

Hi,

In fact you can install AutoCAD 2014 on your Mac even if you have 2011 (2012, 2013) version (s) installed, so the case is not in AutoCAD 2011 installation.

Maybe you already tried to install 2014 version on your Mac (or it was installation of Beta version of AC 2014 for Mac) or you incorrectly removed AC 2014 that was already installed on your system?

During installation the installer application looks for UPISpec file, which can reside in previous installation of the same version of AutoCAD (or in Beta version of current AutoCAD), if it founds this file - the installation aborted.

Maxim

First, please check if AutoCAD 2014 or any of its Beta version has been installed in /Applications/Autodesk folder. If not, please see if a file exists as /var/db/locate.database. If yes, please try to rename it or remove it before you make a backup. Then try to re-install AutoCAD 2014.

Hi Fangh,

Thanks for the feedback. I did not find the file you mentioned
(/var/db/locate.database).
Is there another way to solve this?

Regards.

Hi again,

If you have no Beta versions of AutoCAD installed on your Mac (please verify this again), than I have another question:
Which OS version installed on your Mac?
AutoCAD 2014 compatible only with OS X 10.8.0 or later and OS X 10.9 or later.

Maxim
