Hi,

Do you have fonts that used in DWG file to create text in Hebrew?
What do you see in the drawing area instead of text?
Could you post here one of your problem files?

Maxim

Hi again and thank you for your answers!

My problem is that I have many many plans in hebrew, plans I made in Windows with my last computer. Now I'm working with an iMac and AutoCAD 2013 Educational Version, and when I'm opening those plans I can't read hebrew at all: I just can see the equivalent letters in english and with mirror effect and sometimes I just can see "?????????????", that's it. That's the first problem.

The second one is when I'm creating a new *.dwg file. I can write in hebrew, yes, but I have to write the backwards. For instance: if I want to write "plan" in hebrew I have to write "nalp" to see this in the right way.

I'm sending you one of my problematics hebrew file to show you my priblem.

By the way: I have many hebrew fonts and I tried everything I found on forums and I can't get it anyway...

Hope you can help me.

Thank you very very much!

Clara

Hi Clara,

After adding two SHX fonts (Michal_m.shx and Sivan_m.shx) to /Applications/Autodesk/AutoCAD 2013/AutoCAD 2013.app/Contents/Resources/Fonts/shx folder I am able to see Hebrew text in your drawing:

Screen Shot 2014-03-12 at 15.53.51.png

In order to get to this SHX folder you need to go to Applications folder on your Mac, find AutoCAD 2013.app, right-click on it and select "Show Package Contents", then type SHX in search field in Finder (upper right corner of Finder window), scroll down until you will see SHX folder, double-click on it - you are in right place - copy Hebrew SHX files here.

As about input method (direction of text input) - I'm afraid, I can not help you. When you use PC version of AutoCAD - could you use the correct direction of Hebrew text input inside AutoCAD?

Maxim

Another way to get to SHX folder:
While you are in Finder, select "Go" menu, then "Go to Folder..."

If you have AC 2014: copy this string:

/Applications/Autodesk/AutoCAD 2014/AutoCAD 2014.app/Contents/Resources/Fonts/shx

and paste it to "Go to Folder" window, then pick on Go button.

For AC 2013 the string is:

/Applications/Autodesk/AutoCAD 2013/AutoCAD 2013.app/Contents/Resources/Fonts/shx

Welcome to the Autodesk Forums!

Hi Adi,

Have you tried this (the second post above yours):

@maxim_k wrote:

If you have AC 2013 - copy this string:

and paste it to "Go to Folder" window, then pick on Go button.

You should be inside SHX folder where you can put your fonts - you can drag your SHX fonts here

Hi,

Thanks for the information.

After placing  the fonts in the SHX folder I can read the Hebrew text when I open the file. But, once I click on it, the text turns into a row of ?????.

How could this be fixed?

Thanks,

Gal

Welcome to Autodesk Forums!

Hi Gal,

>>>>But, once I click on it, the text turns into a row of ?????
Could be a problem with default system language you have on your Mac. Which one you have active?

What of Hebrew fonts do you have:
Hebrew.shx Hebtxtn.shx Michal.shx Miry.shx Sivan.shx
Hebtxt.shx Htxt.shx Michal_m.shx Mirym.shx Sivan_m.shx?

Could you attach one of your problem DWG files here? I'll look at it.

Maxim
