Find and Replace text not working - AutoCAD LT 2013 Mac

The find and replace text function has suddently stopped working for multiple words. I used to be able to replace several words at a time, even whole sentences with multiple words or whole sentences. Now, I can only replace single words. No idea what would have caused this.

I could replace THE BLUE CAR IS SLOW with THE RED CAR IS FAST in a dwg file with no problem using any of the three selection settings. Now I can't do that anymore with any of the selection settings. I can replace BLUE with RED, but not BLUE CAR with RED CAR.

Is there a system variable that might have gotten reset somehow? Did the program change somehow?

Thanks. This is AutoCAD LT 2013 for MAC.

Hi,

Please verify that "Find whole words only" in Settings section of Find window is not checked.

I am both stunned, and grateful. I was sure that I had selected and unselected all combinations of those variables, but apparently I did not try that one. It worked!!! I've spent hours trying to figure this out after not having problems for years. Crazy!

Thank you for taking the time to respond. Smiley Happy

Could you post example of text and string you want to find? I'll check tomorrow.

Maxim,

the text I am trying to find and replace is "HP DL380".

Thank you for your time!

I think, that is because FIND command designed to search only single line text, but you want to find text in which words divided by hard return.

Maxim, you have my file above, I am trying to write a macro that would make it to jump to the second line and concatinate both, any suggestions? Thx

Do you mean AutoLISP routine? On AutoCAD LT it is not possible to use AutoLISP.
How it should work (your suggestion)?

Many, many thanks to maxim k.

I
was going nuts trying to figure out why Find was no longer working the way I expected.
Stupid little settings that we all seem to gloss over sometimes, even though they are right in front of us.

Thanks for making my evening go better.
