Creating a New dwg file

Hi, I can't seem to create a new dwg file on Autocad 2013 Mac student version. Whenever I Comm+N it just leads me to a window where there's a list of templates dwt format, but the new dwg file option is not available. Hope someone can help. thanks!

Welcome to the Autodesk Forums!

Hi,

In AutoCAD each new drawing based on some Template file, that is why AutoCAD opens "Select template" when you use NEW command (Cmd+N).

You have to select Template file for your new drawing (for Imperial units use acad.dwt, for Metric units - acadiso.dwt).

After you select template AutoCAD will open new drawing based on selected template.
