I wonder if anybody else out there is having this problem.
I use a Mac and have recently updated the OS to Mavericks and also installed AutoCAD LT 2014 (Mac).
I can open and use AutoCAD LT 14 okay and can open drawings via the application or by double-clicking on a .dwg icon in Finder. But when AutoCAD LT 2014 has quit and is not running in the background I cannot open the application by double-clicking on a .dwg icon in Finder. I can only open AutoCAD LT 2014 using the dock shortcut icon. Once open, I can then open .dwg files any way I like.
It's a little annoying that you can't open the application by double-clicking on a .dwg file.
Is this a glitch or does anybody have a workaround to fix it?

Your best bet would be to post in the AutoCAD for Mac forums

I am having the same problem. I updated Autocad LT Mac to 2014 but have not updated to the new OS (still running 10.8.5) yet so it does not appear to be an OS problem.
Any suggestions on the best way to report this to Autodesk?

Hi,
You can consider that already reported the problem, because wei503 is always somewhere around.

Not exactly a solution to the problem, but I have discovered that this is linked with AutoDesk 360: the little icon that appears next to your clock at the top of the desktop. Click on the icon and sign in to 360, then click on the 360 icon again and select 'settings' and turn off the option to 'load at startup', then sign out of 360. Restart your computer. You will notice the icon does not load and your .dwg files will now open in Finder.
For a little icon, it sure causes a lot of problems!
Great. I don't mind losing the little icon to gain double click to open.
Thanks.
