I had high hopes ACAD4Mac would be an ongoing-update type program, much like AutoCADWS, espcially since both seem to be works-in-progress. Instead of waiting 6-months or a year or whatever for the next full version to find out if missing commands and features got added or not.
Wouldn't that be better, a new module every 2-months that adds features or abilities and fixes existing quirks, and before the next one is fleshed out Autodesk seeks user input on how to shape the next module?
Let the user have more input, directly through open participation. My 2cents worth.
Surely they are not having to rewrite the whole program already, are they?
I hope they come with a sp2 soon that would fix a lot of problems. but when i see also the command list that is available in the cui, but not working yet, i think a sp3 would be needed also. it would be crazy if autodesk would release a 2012 and let people pay for it as seen the big list of so many people having so many problems with this release. i am still on the original installation and no sp1 for me. it made autocad unusable, crash after 5min.
the only problem i now have is that after working for 4 months with it, i now have to re-open autocad every time until my icons in the tool pallet shows up. need about 3 or 4 times and it seem to close all other programs. once it is there i will not close it untill the day is finished...

2011 relase was 15sep 2011 and autodesk preserves the same date almost every year! This information is enough to say when approximately the new apps appears! No violation is needed!!!! Of course, I am not sure for 100% about this date, but this estimation of release used to work.
AutoCAD for MAC 2011 was released on October 15, not September.
To be absolutely precise - main executable of initial release was dated September 30.

Really in October? My mistake. I had to mixed it up somehow..?? I really though that I downloaded trial in Sempt.
Seems you are better informed. So, sorry again for inaccurate information. Anyway, we will have to wait for new AutoCAD till autumn.
In September the upcoming release of AutoCAD for Mac was announced at Autodesk site.

Has anyone sen a beta version, maybe from the autodesk feedback site? I haven't, but am very interested to test a new version!
AutoCAD for Mac 2012 seems to be out as of yesterday, but can be downloaded only as trial version?
It's still 2011 Version which is showing up in my subscription package, and subscription is definitely active until next year..
Anybody else with this?
Best
Rolf
the trial is the same product as the one on the subscription site

Can't find Autocad for Mac 2012 for students. Only 2011 version is available for download. At least for me.
And I have LION, so I really need 2012 version.
