AutoCAD 2013 Mac lag after every command

Just downloaded AutoCAd 2013 onto a new Mac,

Every time I enter a command, like a dim or anything, it takes ten seconds of stall then rotating circle before I can do anything else. It's not the file size, because I can fly through this file and others without this problem on a PC.

This has basically made AutoCAD utterly unusable for me on the Mac.

Any fixes?

Which Mac do you have? How much memory (RAM) installed in your Mac?
Have you trier to restart your Mac?

it is a new Mac, 2.9GHz, 8G 1600 MHz DDR3, running OS X 10.8.2. I have restarted, but no no help. This problem happens with files that contain xrefs.
