AutoCAD 2013 for Mac does not run on MacOS 10.6.8 [Snow Leopard]

AutoCAD 2013 for Mac does not work at all on my computer, it just hangs on the splash screen; and I need this for class.

Plus, I updated it with SP2 and it still won't run.

Welcome to the Autodesk Forums!

Hi,

Have you managed to launch AutoCAD on your Mac at least one time? Or you can not start it after installation at all?

Maxim

I've tried starting it up several times, and once after I installed ServicePack 2, but it hangs on the splash screen

Could be an issue with Flexnet license manager.
If you have Adobe software on your Mac you can try this solution:
http://upandready.typepad.com/up_and_ready/2013/02/reset-standalone-licensing-on-the-mac.html
It is about reseting standalone licensing if you restored or migrated with Time Machine backup, but it also could help if you have Adobe software on your Mac.
If this would not help, then post a part from System.log in Console application at the moment when you launch AutoCAD.

Ah, I do have Adobe CS6. I'll try this then.

Thanks!

From Console output it is absolutely clear that the problem is in activation (LMU stands for License Manager Utility). If you followed the steps in the link I provided before and did not got positive result, you can also try to create new admin account on your Mac and install and launch AutoCAD from it (at first remove AutoCAD from your current account).
But before this you can also try to disconnect from Internet (unplug cable or turn off WiFi) and launch AutoCAD - do you see the same result?
In general, it appears that you have permissions problem on your Mac and License Manager could not write necessary information to Library folder,
Is it possible that you use your account as root? I don't see user name in System log you provided, it is visible only in "All events" section of Console.

I'll try it again in offline mode.

My account is an admin account anyway.

I finally figured out the problem.

I usually like to sort my applications in sub-folders based on their use.

However, certain software only works if it's placed in the root of the Applications folder
