Hi there,

I upgraded to Maverick, without a second thought on Friday, only to discover it has caused glitches to my AutoCAD. The most obvious one being I now cannot edit a text attribute without it freezing  Auto CAD and have to force quit the software. I have uninstalled and re-installed 3 times to no avial, even when not saving my AutoCAD prefernces and having to start from scratch.

I've spoken to Apple Care, which were quite hepful, but have simply bounced it back to Autodesk's court.

I would suggest you don't install MAverick until a new update is provided by Autodesk.

Hope this helps.

Regards

Nigel

Welcome to Autodesk Forums!

Hi,

I'm afraid - never.
The first contemporary version of AC for Mac doesn't supported even on Mountain Lion, as I know.

Hey Maxim,

There was a service pack that updated AC 2011 to run properly on Mountain Lion. Hoping the same for Mavericks,

Thanks!

Not really sure about this, because at this page about AC 2011 for Mac System requirements:

http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/ps/dl/item?siteID=123112&id=15802859&linkID=15839490#section10

you can read:

AutoCAD for Mac 2011 System Requirements

  • Apple® Mac® Pro 4,1 or later; MacBook® Pro 5,1 or later (MacBook Pro 6,1 or later recommended); iMac® 8,1 or later (iMac 11,1 or later recommended); Mac® mini 3,1 or later (Mac mini 4,1 or later recommended); MacBook Air® 2,1 or later; MacBook® 5,1 or later (MacBook 7,1 or later recommended)
  • Mac OS® X v10.5.8 or later; Mac OS® X v10.6.4 or later (note: at this time, Mountain Lion 10.8.x is not supported) ; 64-bit Intel® processor
  • 3 GB of RAM (4 GB recommended)
  • 2.5 GB free disk space for download and installation (3 GB recommended)
  • All graphics cards on supported hardware
  • 1,024 x 768 display with true color (1,600 x 1,200 with true color recommended)
  • All Mac OS X supported language operating systems Apple® Mouse, Apple Magic Mouse, Magic Trackpad, MacBook® Pro trackpad, or Microsoft®-compliant mouse.
  • Mac OS X-compliant printer

And the last SP - SP3 was released 2011-Oct-17, but OS X Mountain Lion was released on July 25, 2012 for purchase and download through Apple's Mac App Store.

SO what do we do if we have an LT version. to get it to work with mavericks OS

I use Autocad LT 2013 every day and foolishly upgraded to Mavericks without checking for compatibility issues - and found out the hard way.

LT3013 will run intermittently on Mavericks but is not sufficiently stable to get any real work done - too many crashes.

I have downloaded the 30 day evaluation copy of LT2014 and it works great - so far 100% stable. I hope that a fix for the 2013 LT compatibility is released in the next 30 days or I will need to de-install Mavericks and I really don't want to go there.

Does anyone have any alternative suggestions?

John
