Welcome to Autodesk Forums!

AFAIK OS X 10.9 is still under development, there is only Developer Preview of it at the moment. I think theoretically AC 2013 for Mac would run (probably with Service Pack) on Mavericks.

I'll try to install AC 2013 on Mac with SP Running Mavericks, then I'll tell you what happens with that ASAP.
Thanks a lot for your tip.

BTW I mean next (not current) service pack which is not released for now, but maybe it will run without it too.
Anyway, you can try to install the program at your own risk - nobody will give no guarantees that it will work without glitches. At least because you install it in Dev Preview, but not in final version of OS X.

MBA summer 2013 /i7/8Gb/256Gb, Mac OS 10.9

Acad2013 will not completely install. It installs the other files in the folder in Apps but not the Acad program file.

I have d/l'ed the install file twice to make sure I did'nt have a corrupt d/l.

I guess i'll wait for an update?

Of course, there should be update.... After 10.9 will be released as final product.

BTW: You have tried to install AutoCAD in Developer preview version of new OS, so no one takes responsibility, but yourself.

first of all thanks for your response.
Secondly, I?m testing the OS as well as Acad
i?m between a rock and a hard place. due to the NDA?s of the os and Acad, i shouldn?t talk about either one.
i use my MacPro for daily use, and the new MBA for testing. the MacPro is only on 10.7.x
i already have a lot of the major apps on the MBA, maybe a future OS update will solve the problem.
thanks again,
DP

Now that Mavericks is available for OS upgrades, has anyone tried installing it to see ACAD 2013 still works?

so far it seems like when you open a dwg it opens drawing 1 but doesn't open the dwg you select. if you close that drawing and reopen it works

when you go into the attribute editor for a block as soon as you hit ok or cancel the program hangs.

we need an update ASAP!

Hi michael,

Why you upgraded to Mavericks? Didn't you now that AC 2013 is not compatible with new OS according to it's System requirements?

I want to upgrade to OS X 10.9 but i want to know before hand if AutoCAD 2013 student version would still work

Message 13 of 89

Hi faljalah,

Welcome to our forums.

AutoCAD 2013 is not officially supported on Mavericks yet. Please refer to the AutoCAD 2013 System Requirements for future updates.

Best regards,

Fantatic, new mac OS X with greater speed improvements etc etc.

Dont tell me all the users with 2013 will now be dropped and in order to use the new OS  X and AutoCAD the aformentioned users will let me guess

"Need to purchase the 2014 version of AutoCAD" because 2013 is no longer supported!!!!!!!

What a shock. So much for supporting a product !!!!!! and building a loyal customer base.

This is standard procedure with almost all major software.  It has little to do with price gouging, as has been implied.  Updating software to run on a new OS is a substantial investment in both time and money, which has already been expended on the newer versions.  If older versions were upgraded to run on a new OS you would have the newer version anyways.

Will AutoCAD LT for Mac 2013 get an update to work with Mavericks?

Or will an upgrade to 2014 be required?

Thanks for any info you may provide,

Adam

Hi Adam,

It is peer to peer Forum and we are not aware about Autodesk's plans. But if you will look at near history, then you will notice, that previous AC release always get an update in order to work with new OS, last year it was AC 2012, this year it should be 2013 release.

Hey Adam,

We're currently working with our AutoCAD for Mac team to identify OS 10.9 Mavericks compatibility for both the new 2014 release, as well as prior versions. Not much that I can share at the moment but will definitely keep you posted as new information becomes available.

Thanks for your patience in the mean time!

Philip

Thanks for the reply!

It diplomatically doesn't say if there's a patch on its way though...(and I get why).

I look forward to hearing an update. Will it be through this forum?

Thanks much!

Adam
