I am beginning to wonder if one should switch to Microstation when Autodesk
starts removeing standard features only to offer them for sale as an extra
cost item. Are they taking lessons from Bill Gates?

Loved the last question: you cannot be the richest man on earth giving free
tools away *grin*

Express Tools died with R2000, so to speak. A lot has been implemented in
R2002, some got replaced entirely as AutoCAD went in a different direction
(Layer Manager tools and features for example), and the remainder are being
used to entice people to join the subscription program, along with free
extensions every quarter.

Who's got time to learn another CAD product :smileywink:

Miles,

Autodesk intended to give away Express Tools for free, and they did for a
very short time. But there were some legal issues with giving away a
product that they once sold, so they decided to sell it again.
