Cannot see a line until it is drawn.

Ok here is a classic.  I click the line command and stretch out my mouse.  I DO NOT see anything until i click the end of line, then the line appears.  This does not happen for circle, sqaure or any other command.  I have the colors set correctly on my Layers, and in Optons.  After drawing the line all in normal.  What in Gods name could that be?

Is the problem in all files, or just one?

It only happens on (1) file.  It started 2 days after I began working on a drawing.  It lasted for 2 days, I then shut down my system and re-booted.  After opening the drawing again, it finally started working.  Still not sure what it was, but it did stop.  Thank  you for answering,,  still not sure but at least it is gone.
