Automate Circuit Builder similar to the Spreadsheet to PLC feature.

Automate Circuit Builder similar to the Spreadsheet to PLC feature.

Being able to insert circuits using Circuit Builder but using the Spreadsheet to PLC generator or something similar. The spreadsheet defines which circuits, (Circuit Builder builds them), how much space they take up, etc. everything needed to draw the drawings like the PLC generator.

Or at least document the correct use of "c:ace_cb_insert" with the "history" option, so that we can implement an automation app of our own. http://forums.autodesk.com/t5/AutoCAD-Electrical-General/quot-history-name-quot-parameter-in-c-ace-c...

The following idea is very similar: http://forums.autodesk.com/t5/AutoCAD-Electrical-IdeaStation/ANSI-ISA-S5-4/idi-p/5197651

A as general as possible circuit generator, based on Excel, would be maybe a nice idea. Every customer has different raw data, e.g. data from loop diagrams, etc.; a general approach helps everyone; but must be easy to handle and nevertheless powerful ...

I think your missing the most important point regarding loop generation which is

for this to be successful a method of mapping a users spreadsheet to pre defined markers in a template drawings needs to be developed

Which means the end user will not want to use a spreadsheet format whcih ACADE may develope that is different from what they are currently using

ACADE must bend to what the customer does not vice versa or it will be a waste of time

We've actually created a project builder command that plugs into AutoCAD Electrical and is driven from excel. Even RS Wire used to have a module for this

PLC stands for “Programmable Logic Controller”. A PLC is a computer specially designed to operate reliably under harsh industrial environments – such as extreme temperatures, wet, dry, and/or dusty conditions. PLCs are used to automate industrial processes such as a manufacturing plant’s assembly line, an ore processing plant, or a wastewater treatment plant.
